Worlds Edge (Dwarf) Super League

Worlds Edge Super League
A Blood Bowl League of Dwarfs, by Dwarfs and for Dwarfs!
Presents:

KHAZIT DEB DAWI
(APPRENTICE TOURNAMENT)*

Every year the Dwarf Holds of the Old World dispatch their best and most promising young Dwarf players to the Dwarven city of Barak-Varr to compete in the World Edge Super League (WESL) Khazit Deb Dawi (Apprentice Tournament).

These team of young Dwarfs are primarily competing for the honor of their Hold and Clan - but there is also an informal, but nevertheless intense, competition among coaches and owners of the established teams of the WESL to sign up the most talented young players to their teams. The very best may also be lucky enough to capture the attention of recruiting scouts sent from the Dwarf teams competing in a host of leagues across the Old World such as the Friday Night Fights and even those elite Dwarf teams that regularly contest the prestigious Major Tournaments.

DID YOU KNOW: In 2470, several of the Dwarven teams competing in various leagues throughout the Old World collectively staged a mass walk-out and set about forming a league of their own. This move was the culmination of years of disenchantment over the increase in the throwing game that threatened to end whatever chance of success the Dwarfs teams had ever had!   The resulting World's Edge Super League is a Dwarfs-only League. Curiously, the throwing game dominates! World's Edge fans just love to see the ball hanging up there while 22 players scramble for the honor of being the one it lands on!

Each year the teams compete for a memento from great moments in Dwarf Blood Bowling history - gladly donated by some the most famous Dwarf personalities of the game. This year's trophy is the helmet of one of the great players of recent history, former Dwarf Giant Grimwold Grimmbreath, worn during the famous victory in the 2484 over the Darkside Cowboys in Blood Bowl XXIV.

DID YOU KNOW: The NAF record for the Most Players Killed by Kicking (Single Game) is 3. Held by the Dwarf Giants' Grimwold Grimbreath vs Lowdown rats 2485.

Teams come from all over the Dwarven realms of the World Edge Mountains and beyond to complete in the Khazit Deb Dawi.  From the ancient capital of Karak-A-Karak to new holds like Karak Norn in the Grey Mountains.** Even the hard-pressed garrisons at Karak Eight Peaks and Ekrund usually send teams composed of their youngest warriors. It is even not unknown for Kraka-Drak, located far to the north in the mountains of Norsca, to send a team. (see the Worlds Edge Map in the WESL Resources)

* literal: small battle of the untried Dwarfs.
** new: for Dwarfs, this usually means anything less than two thousand years old.
